During World War II roughly 60,000 service members were exposed to mustard gas under classified testing. This testing was to determine if the protective equipment that was created would be effective. Unfortunately, none of the veterans were able to seek out treatment due to an oath of secrecy. Senator Clair McCaskill issued a bill that would help those veterans receive benefits they deserve. After seeing assistance from the VA’s office and issuing multiple revisions, the VA denied the proposed bill.
