Agent Orange awareness has started to grow over the last few years, assisting those veterans who have been affected seek out medical benefits and treatment. Those military men and women who are returning from Iraq and Afghanistan may be facing their own form of Agent Orange. Roughly 60,000 troops may be affected by burn pits and the toxic smoke emitted from burning electronics and plastic products. Amie Muller was diagnosed with stage III pancreatic cancer at the age of 36. She worked and lived next to the pits during two deployments to Balad with the Minnesota Air National Guard. She has not been the only veteran who has returned and noticed some form of health issues. President Obama stated that these veterans will not have to wait for this crisis to be acknowledged by the VA and pushes to have them receive care immediately.
