Homeless Emergency Project Assists Vets with PTSD in Clearwater, Florida

The Homeless Emergency Project has opened a new $3 million apartment complex in Clearwater aimed at rehabilitating Afghanistan and Iraq veterans who are suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder. The transitional apartments will provide special services for young veterans who are either homeless or at risk for becoming homeless, including on-site case managers and other medical staff and transportation to Bay Pines VA Medical Center. The rent is set at 30% of the tenant’s income and the building has 32 apartments. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on October 25.
