About Daniel

Dan Smith joined Bosley & Bratch in July 2011 after leaving a prestigious position as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Mary J. Schoelen at the United States Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims (CAVC) in Washington, D.C., where he assisted in the preparation of approximately 200 decisions related to the administration of claims for VA compensation benefits.

Dan has spent much of his career advocating for veterans and their families.  He previously worked at the National Veterans Legal Services Program (NVLSP) in Washington, D.C., where he helped to edit multiple professional publications, including the Veterans Benefits Manual (a resource manual relied upon by veterans’ advocates) and The Veterans Advocate (a newsletter for attorneys).  He has served on the Board of Governors for the CAVC Bar Association.  Dan has also served on both the Amicus and Seminar committees for the National Organization for Veterans’ Advocates (NOVA).  He has frequently presented at NOVA’s conferences.

Dan attended Stetson University College of Law, where he was a member of the school’s Law Review.  He also served as an intern to the Honorable Robert Davis at the CAVC while he was in law school.
