Bosley & Bratch attorney Dan Smith gave a presentation on “How to Select Cases” at the National Organization of Veterans Advocates’ spring 2016 conference in Las Vegas. He covered a wide variety of topics, including how VA makes awards to veterans and “retroactive” payments, how the agency rates various types of disabilities, and special types of awards that veterans can receive.
Agents and attorneys who practice in VA law attended the three-day conference. This was Dan’s third presentation before this group of practitioners. In 2013, he presented on clear and unmistakable error (CUE), and in 2014 he presented on practice before the Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims (CAVC).
Attorney Daniel Smith has been with Bosley and Bratch since 2011. Before joining the firm, he clerked at the CAVC for Judge Mary Schoelen. Dan’s special area of interest and focus are appeals to the CAVC.
