On Friday, December 12, 2014, Bosley & Bratch’s attorney Andrew Rutz instructed elder law attorneys on how to appeal an adverse decision from the Department of Veterans Affairs. The presentation on appealing unfavorable VA decisions was part of an advanced elder law seminar in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. The range of topics was broad including recent developments in administrative appeals, preparing for hearings, evaluating decisions from the Board of Veterans Appeals, presenting a case at the Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims, and how to use Petitions for Extraordinary Relief to advance a veteran’s case. The seminar focused on how veterans benefits are an important consideration when creating a care plan for elderly veterans.
