If you receive disability benefits from the VA, you are going to see a slight change take effect on December 1st, 2019. This means you will receive the new pay rates in your January 2020 disability compensation payment.
Veterans will see a 1.6% increase in monthly disability checks in 2020.
Eligible veterans with a disability rate of 10 percent or higher can receive monthly benefit checks as tax-free compensation. Those with a rating of 100% can be awarded as much as $3,106.04 monthly. 2020 VA Disability Pay Rates
The VA adjusts benefits every year to align with the rate of inflation.
- For 10%, the average monthly check will go up by $10.
- For 100% the average monthly check will go up by $100.
